How do I take advantage of the Reader's Digest promotion?
Subscribers to Reader's Digest magazine and newsletter are entitled to a 20% discount off all 'Start Now' course titles from Lexicom Learning. To take advantage of this offer simply enter the coupon code RDPROMO upon checkout when you complete your online enrolment on this website. This offer is valid until 17/02/2012.
Why are your courses different?
Lexicom Learning courses are developed the way online courses ought to be. As a Lexicom student you gain access to the most advanced courses available, jam packed with theoretical and practical knowledge. Instead of reading course notes and listening to lectures you’ll:
• watch your screen come to life with lively animation, striking color graphics and engaging video
• listen to a narrator explain each concept
• participate in discussions with other inquisitive people
• ask questions to experts and receive response in your own personal inbox
• test yourself with interactive games, learning activities, quizzes and short multiple choice tests all designed to help you learn, not make you sweat.
What is myStudyRoom?
myStudyRoom is your own online study space. It is here that you access your course, ask your tutor questions using your MailBox, join discussion forums to discuss ideas with other students, chat with your tutor and students, receive messages, track your results in the gradebook, manage your profile, access resources, take part in live conferencing, download your certificate and upload documents to your DropBox for review by your tutor.
How long are the courses?
The beauty of Lexicom courses is that you decide how long it takes. Each course is self-paced so you can work as fast or as slow as you need to. Studying while you work has never been easier. As a guide, most students will take around 30 hours to view the course presentation, listen to audio narration, attempt the learning exercises and activities, participate in the forum (optional), interact with the tutor (optional) and attempt the final knowledge quiz.
How long do I have to complete my course?
You have 6 months to complete your course and during this time you can review each topic as many times as you wish, even those topics that you have already completed. You can apply for one free extension of up to one month.
Do I get a certificate?
Of course. To receive your certificate you need to achieve a grade of 60% in your final knowledge quiz but you are not limited in the number of attempts.
Are any of your courses accredited?
Yes, some of our courses are industry accredited but only where there is a benefit for students. For example, Understanding Nutrition is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and provides our students with Continuing Professional Development points at CMA. For other courses, such as Learn to Buy and Sell on eBay our students are simply building up knowledge and there is little benefit (or possibility) to have these short courses accredited. To find out if the course you're interested in is industry accrediated simply look for the logos on the course information page, or contact us.
In addition, Lexicom Learning is registered with the UK Register of Learning Providers (Provider Number 10029274) and is an organisational member of the British Institute for Learning and Development.
When can I start?
Anytime! Lexicom Learning courses have no semesters so you can literally start whenever you like. Why not start right now?
Is there an exam?
Each course has a final knowledge quiz. To receive a certificate you need to achieve a score of 60% or more in the final knowledge quiz. But don't worry, you can have as many attempts as you like.
